24/7 Bus Lanes

Transport for London has begun a trial to extend bus lane hours on some of London’s busiest roads, including Clapham High Street.

The 24/7 trial began on September 13, and TfL said it will help ‘guard against a damaging car-led recovery, that would pose risks to safety, the environment and public health’.

Drivers who park or travel in the bus lanes could be hit with a Penalty Charge Notice of up to £130 and the trial will last up to 6 months.

This is Clapham is aware that this change might impact businesses in terms of customer access and also deliveries, which will be further affected by conversion of loading bays into additional pavement space.

This is Clapham is in dialogue with Lambeth Council’s transport team and would like to hear the views of businesses affected by the changes.

More information is available on the TFL website here.
