Hush volunteering

This is Clapham BID recently partnered with The Clapham Society and Hush for a fantastic community volunteer day in Clapham Old Town, bringing together over 50 volunteers to help improve Clapham’s public spaces.

As part of its commitment as a B Corp-certified business, Hush encourages its team to support its local community through volunteering. This day was a great example of that commitment in action, with colleagues rolling up their sleeves to make a visible difference right in the heart of the neighbourhood.

What we achieved together

With support from volunteers across all three organisations, the team delivered a wide range of improvements across Clapham:

  • Sanded and re-oiled the Old Town benches to restore their appearance and longevity
  • Repainted existing planters to refresh the public realm
  • Planted over 60 new plants, adding colour and biodiversity to the square
  • Replanted and improved several planters to enhance the overall streetscape

These improvements help maintain Clapham as a welcoming and attractive space for residents, visitors, and local businesses alike.

Supporting Clapham’s public spaces

Volunteer days like this play an important role in supporting the ongoing care of Clapham’s shared spaces. They also demonstrate how partnerships between local organisations, businesses, and community groups can deliver meaningful improvements quickly and collaboratively.

A huge thank you to everyone from Hush who gave their time and energy to support the day, and to The Clapham Society or their continued commitment.

We look forward to building on this momentum with more community volunteering opportunities across Clapham in the months ahead.
