Welcome to Clapham’s brand new neighbourhood grocery store

Alex Trude, is Trude’s Chief Grocer and Founder. The idea for Trude’s Grocery came from Alex’s passion for food and his love of traditional London markets. Alex grew up in Brixton and loved going to the market with his parents to buy food for the weekend.

The drama of the market, the characters, the friendliness of the stallholders and the excitement of what meals lay ahead are all such fond memories. Alex missed this from his own chaotic modern life. Convenience often won, and he found himself most nights stressed after work in a supermarket buying packets of fruit and veg he knew would ultimately go off unless he had the same meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The need for quality produce mixed with convenience led him to create the idea of the ultimate grocery store!

Trudes is perfectly positioned near Clapham Common Tube and will be open 7 days a week. We can’t wait to meet you all soon, look out for us!
