2018 Old Town Fair

Clapham Old Town Fair

Saturday 1 September was the third Clapham Old Town Fair and this year it was bigger and better than ever. It featured over 50 stalls, sports activities, the London Fire Brigade, food and drink from local businesses, craft stalls, community groups, live music, fun fair rides and animals from Vauxhall City Farm.

The Fair was started 3 years ago after the London Fire Brigade approached This is Clapham BID seeking to organise a public event to help celebrate 100 years of the London Fire Brigade and recognise the support given by members of the local community in their successful campaign to prevent the closure of the station. It has gone from strength to strength since then and remains a community powered event celebrating everything that we love about Clapham, its people and its local businesses.

The principle organisers of the event were Clapham Old Town based Omnibus Theatre and we’d like to thank Marie, Lucinda, Beth and the rest of the team for all their hardwork in making the event happen.

Once again the dog show was a popular attraction and we’d like to thank Cuffe Vets and Woofs to Kitties for their support in organising this very successful event. Categories include Dogs who look like their owners, statues and golden oldies, amongst others.

Local business the Academy of Contemporary Music helped source local artists to play on two music stages at the event and we’d like to thank all the musicians who gave their time to entertain us. The list of musicians included –
