Bandstand Beds Clapham Common

Sitting in the summer sunshine watching a butterfly delicately flit from one flower to another is an absolute delight. But sadly, both butterfly and moth numbers are on the decline.

So what can we do to make our gardens and green spaces more welcoming for these wonderful creatures?

May Webber works for Butterfly Conservation, a UK charity dedicated to protecting butterflies, moths and our environment. She is currently leading a Heritage Lottery funded project called Big City Butterflies which aims to help Londoners discover their local green spaces and nature within them.

This talk with May will be an introduction to butterflies and moths, why they are important and how we can increase their natural habitat.

Join us for a bring-and-share picnic at 5pm, following by the starting at 6.30pm.

Free event but numbers are limited. If you would like attend please email ccbandstanbeds@gmail.com to reserve a place on the talk.
