Inspired by Brahms’ Ophelia-Lieder, Emma and Keval will go on a journey from innocence to experience with female characters in song. Their programme will also include Schumann’s Frauenliebe und –leben and Rossini’s Giovanna D’Arco.

Emma and Keval are alumni of the Royal Academy of Music and are an award-winning duo. Their successes include the Bampton Classical Opera’s Young Singers Competition and the Audrey Strange Memorial Award at the Royal Overseas League Vocal Competition. Notable recitals include performances at the Leeds Lieder Festival, the Colston Hall, the Lewes Festival of Song and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

‘Emma Stannard sang with a beautifully modulated and warm mezzo-soprano, giving us five finely shaped gems.’ Planet Hugill on the Oxford Lieder Festival

‘Stannard’s is a warm and wonderfully even mezzo, with a muscularity that made much of this confused young man’s many identities.’ Alexandra Coghlan, The Arts Desk

‘Shah’s playing is secure, deft and responsive.‘ The Guardian
