Omnibus

‘… To abandon completely… the opinion that the sun stands still at the center of the world and the earth moves, and henceforth not to hold, teach, or defend it in any way whatever, either orally or in writing.’ – The Inquisition’s injunction against Galileo, 1616

To kick off the second of our micro festivals we will be joined by the celebrated designer Vivienne Westwood who will be talking about her campaign against climate change. Fashion icon meets political activist; Vivienne is renowned for her ground-breaking and hugely influential contribution to culture and the arts as well as her environmental and social activism. More information can be found on the CLIMATE REVOLUTION website: www.climaterevolution.co.uk

Vivienne will introduce our variety night Interrobang: ARTCOP21 where we are also delighted to welcome the brilliant Sara Pascoe (Live At The Apollo, QI, Mock The Week), alongside the provoking work of Hoax Theatre and Drawn to the Stars Theatre Company.

WE ALL WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING ABOUT THE WORLD…

In 2010, more than 16 million people who were eligible to vote chose not to. What compels us to voice the issues that play on our conscience, and what holds us back? Why should we fight to change the world, and how does trying to do so end up changing us? In this installment of the Perception Festival we will explore everything that pushes our buttons, whether it be suffering, prejudice, victimization, the onslaught of climate change, the privatization of the NHS…

From a sound-mapping of the Arctic to a t-shirt making workshop, from a poem that eats pollution to the comedy talents of Sara Pascoe, lend your voice to Voice as we urge those of all ages to shout out that which might usually be kept hidden.

What will you bring to the debate?
