The Dairy

It’s our 5th birthday and as we were born on St Patrick’s day, we have decided to make a pretty big deal of it all week long!

13TH-17TH MARCH:

Going against the grain and chucking out the clichés of ‘Irishness’, we want instead to shout about the small producers and purveyors of Ireland, ones that you might not know about or necessarily associate with the Emerald Isle. Expect sea urchins, abalone, snails, Achill lamb and seaweeds in a nod to some of the ancient peasant dishes of Ireland.

Our drinks offering will introduce a plethora of Irish distillers and brewers including some original favourites like Teeling and Jameson alongside a few newer faces such as Johnny Fall Down Cider from the orchards of Killahora, County Cork. Our pal, Dave Mulligan will be bringing along his award-winning tipple, Bán Poitín, a small batch spirit distilled from potatoes, malted barley and sugar beets. Cocktails will include Irish reinventions of the classics. Expect Irish whiskey Boulevardiers made with botanicals foraged from the Wicklow mountains and Tomás’s Margaritas featuring Bán Poitín.
Join us for an unexpected approach to Irish food and drink from 13th-17th March.

SUNDAY 18TH MARCH: CELEBRATING 5 YEARS!
Ok, we know we said we wouldn’t do all the clichéd stuff…but on Sunday, for one day only, we’ve decided to go all out, embrace the clichés and bring the craic to Clapham. We are turning our beloved modern British bistro into a traditional Irish pub for the big birthday bash! From 2pm onwards, there will be traditional live music and Guinness on tap. Head along for a stripped back menu of smoked salmon on soda bread, Galway oysters, traditional Irish stew and whiskey ice cream. Counter Culture will become ‘the snug’ for the day; a unique whiskey bar. The festivities will take place from 2-8pm (with the kitchen open 2-6pm).
