Paint a hoarding

Local creative businesses are invited to decorate the hoarding in Old Town as part of a locally produced piece of art. It is great opportunity to release your creative skills in the local community and promote your business free of charge.

The hoarding surrounds what was the Old Town Toilet Block. Lambeth Council have sought to renovate and let the facility as a cafe, but have been forced to demolish the building due to safety concerns. At this stage there are no timescales when this will building will be reconstructed, following planning permissions.

On 2 September at the Clapham Old Town Fair illustrator Jonny Glover will be at the event documenting the day onto the hoarding in his unique style. We have also commissioned typographer Alex Fowkes to paint the words Clapham Old Town along one side to promote the area.
