puffins on clapham manor street

This is Clapham has installed another mural in Clapham with a huge thanks to Rob at Aspireartwork for this great piece of artwork on Clapham Manor Street.
The work shows the Atlantic puffin, a declining species in Europe and the red symbolises the fact they are on the BTO and ICUN red list for endangered species. According to the UN the decline of the species is related to the lack of food for the birds due to the increased temperature in the sea.
Rob from Aspire Artwork says “I hope you like the design and I think the ambiguity of the red could also be perceived as love, community and togetherness, with the embrace of the two birds looking quite special.”Aspire Artwork have done a similar themed mural on Voltaire Road, highlighting plastic pollution on the Oceans and waterways.
We’d also like to thank Demipower, a KFC franchisee for giving permission for the installation.
