This is Clapham has successfully worked with business, landlords and residents in Venn Street to install Festoon Lighting across the street. The project was originally proposed by Marks Barfield Architects who felt the street could benefit from some additional, but subtle decorative lighting.

This is Clapham BID worked with lighting contractors Blachere Lighting who helped create a lighting scheme for the street, which was approved by local businesses and local residents.

The lights have been installed since November and are timed to come on each day at 3pm and go off at 1am in the morning. The aim is to keep the lights on throughout the year.

Howard Taylor from Venn Street Records said “the lights look great and add to the look and feel of what is already a nice semi pedestrianised street in the heart of Clapham. I’d encourage other businesses to engage with the BID and help develop projects that will benefit their business and the wider community.”

This is Clapham BID would like to install more decorative year round lighting across the area and is keen to work with local businesses to develop and implement new projects.
