Clapham Lights Switch on

The Clapham Lights Christmas switch on event returned for its sixth year and This is Clapham would like to thank everyone who attended and those who contributed their time to make the event a huge success.

We’d like to thank the teachers and children from St Mary’s and Heathbrook schools whose choirs performed throughout the event and the band School of Desire who played into the evening.

Food and drink were provided by local businesses, including Trinity, Brew and Barrow, Minnow, Willow, 1833 and The Rose and Crown who served festive mulled wine, Hot dogs, mince pies and other mouth-watering treats!

We also had a range of artisan stalls selling a variety of scarfs, candles and children’s books to name a few! We also had free fairground rides to entertain the younger audience.

Finally we’d also like to thank Omnibus Theatre who did the hard work for this event and most importantly ensured that the festive cow made his flight across the Clapham Old Town Square and helped us turn on the Christmas Tree lights alongside the Deputy Lieutenant for Lambeth, Christopher Wellbelove DL.

This is Clapham has also funded the installation of 82 Christmas decorations including the new and improved spheres by the tube station and arranged the installation and decoration of the Christmas tree with support from Birksen.
