Clapham Works! And so do you…

Later this month, a three week schedule of marketing workshops, talks and events will take place in Clapham town centre. These events welcome any professional wishing to learn more about marketing, and take the opportunity to network with other businesses in SW4. The events will be held during the day and in the evening, taking place in various locations, such as Metro Garden Restaurant, Omnibus and The Sun pub.

The project: Clapham Works, is brought to you by sub-group of the Clapham Business Improvement District: Connect, which works to join up business activity around the town centre for mutual benefit.

Clapham Works is a project designed to provide a variety of valuable, relevant and accessible, marketing training to anyone wishing to learn more. Attendees must book in advance and BID members can attend for free!

The lineup of speakers, trainers and experts has been selected from the hotbed of excellent local marketing agencies and media professionals in SW4. The majority of events in this series are two hour workshops, each hosted by an industry expert, with a focus on a particular marketing discipline or channel, such as branding via social media, PR, Twitter and LinkedIn. It is recommended that attendees of these workshops bring a laptop and/or smartphone, plus a notebook. Wifi and refreshments will be provided.

If the classroom environment is not for you, then make your way to the ‘Instameet’ – the 1 hour walkabout in Clapham town centre, hosted by the team from local, award-winning, social media marketing agency Gertrude & Ivy – as they share tips on how to take the best images and explain how you could become an Instagram superuser. Instameets take place all round the world, bringing together Instagrammers everywhere.

Tweet your attendance for the opening event of Clapham Works, as it takes place online at 11am Friday 26 February, for a 1 hour Twitter Chat. Tweeters should use #ClaphamWorks to take part in the conversation, but do not worry if you miss it, these weekly Twitter Chats will happen every Friday, at the same time, from this day onwards.

The biggest event of the series, the Panel Talk, will take place on Tuesday 15 March, from 6.30pm at the auditorium inside Omnibus, in Clapham Old Town. The panel features guests from different marketing sectors, hosted by Emma Jane Clark, a regular speaker and trainer of social media marketing. The panel discussion will focus on the best marketing strategies and latest trends, with insights, forecasts and top tips. Questions will be invited from the audience and the talk will be followed by networking drinks.
